Canberra Schools Comp

The Canberra Schools Competition (CSC) is a fun, social, and participation-focused inter-school water polo competition run by the Canberra Water Polo Academy (CWPA).

Open to both primary and high school students, the competition gives athletes the opportunity to represent their school, play alongside friends, and continue developing their water polo skills in a supportive environment. Whether you're an experienced player or trying water polo for the first time, everyone is welcome.

The competition is held over a 7-week term at CISAC, Belconnen, with divisions offered based on age group and participation levels. Schools can enter full teams, while individual players are welcome to register and will be placed into composite teams where required.

CWPA provides all playing equipment, including water polo caps and balls, and can also assist schools in finding coaches where needed.

No previous water polo experience is required - participants simply need to be confident swimming in deep water.

Our CSC & Junior Dolphins Sessions

Schools Comp Siblings Discount!

Sibling Discount - 50% off for siblings!

We are excited to introduce our new Sibling Discount for families with multiple CSC and Junior Dolphins athletes! Starting in Term 3, 2024, the first child to train with Junior Dolphins or play in the Combined Schools Comp will pay the full price, while any siblings will receive a 50% discount on their sessions.

How It Works

  • First Child: $165 per term (1 session per week)

  • Second Child: $82.50 per term (50% discount)

  • Third Child: $82.50 per term (50% discount)

For Example:

  • One Child: $165 per term

  • Two Children: $247.50 per term

  • Three Children: $330 per term

This sibling discount applies to all Junior Dolphins training and Combined Schools Comp (CSC) sessions across various locations. It's our way of making it easier for families to participate and enjoy water polo together.

Automatic Discount: When signing up online, the sibling discount will be automatically applied at the checkout when you register the siblings together.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Session prices include all training and game nights but do not cover pool entry fees. Junior Dolphins are required to pay the regular pool entry fee each week.

  • Make-up sessions can be made at any location during the current term for Junior Dolphins athletes.

 FAQs

  • Yes, those without a team will be placed in a team that needs extra players.

    Please still register as normal through the link HERE

  • Schools need to supply 1 referee per team entered. If you don’t have any suitable referees, CWPA can help.

    We can also arrange coach and referee education if you have a parent or older sibling wishing to help out.

  • Yes, players and spectators will be charged pool entry each week at reception.

    This is NOT INCLUDED in the competition costs.

  • Swimmers, towel and a drink bottle.

  • None!

    CWPA will supply all match balls, goals and caps if needed. If schools would like to organise custom school caps, contact info@canberrawaterpoloacademy.com

  • We will run a BBQ every Friday night during CSC.

    This includes sausage sandwiches, pizzas, drinks, lollies and chips.

  • No, you just need to be a reasonably strong swimmer. However we do encourage all of our Junior Dolphins athletes to play in the Schools Comp to gain more gameplay experience!

  • Yes, there is a training discount available! For our enthusiastic Junior Dolphins who can’t get enough of the game, join us for three or more sessions every week for the price of two! This includes the Schools Comp!

    • 1 Session Per Week = $165

    • 2 Sessions Per Week = $330

    • 3+ Sessions Per Week = $330, No Extra Cost!
